The 3rd Symposium of the ICEPHA Graduate Program "Membrane-associated Drug Targets in Personalized Cancer Medicine" took place in Stuttgart at the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus.

October, 2019


Personalized and Precision Medicine International Conference – PEMED 2020. Co-organized by ICEPHA´s Speaker Prof. Schwab this conference will take place in Munich on February 19-21, 2020. The deadline for Abstract submission is November 18, 2019. The conference flyer can be downloaded here.


The 3rd ICEPHA symposium of the graduate program will take place from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on February 18, 2020 at the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, Auerbachstr. 110, Pavilion III, 70376 Stuttgart. Further information will follow soon.

Merckle doctoral thesis award

Congratulations to Dr. Corinna Mohr for receiving the Merckle doctoral thesis award 2019 and many thanks to Ludwig Merckle for sponsoring the prize. Well-deserved, Corinna! Corinna has gone through our graduate program, and her recently finished thesis was supervised by Profs. Brauch and Lukowski.

Congratulations to Dr. Robert Lukowski who was appointed as Full Professor of Experimental Pharmacology in the Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacy Department at the University of Tübingen. His research focuses on the impact of cGMP pathway modulation and Ca2+/Na+-activated K+ channels such as BK and Slo2.2/Slack in animal models of disease and their utility in drug discovery applications. Since 2013 he acts as training coordinator and speaker of ICEPHA´s Graduate Program and as a board member of the DFG Research Unit “cGMP Signaling in Cell Growth and Survival” (FOR 2060).

ICEPHA´s speakers Prof. Laufer and Prof. Schwab, together with other renowned experts, contribute with their unique know-how, techniques and tools to the division of "Therapy Design" within the University of Tübingen framework of the Excellence Initiative. The ICEPHA has established a preferred partnership with the Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery & Development (TüCAD2). Together with this academic platform we will optimize the development of potential drug candidates and their utility for clinical application. The ICEPHA secured funding for the ICEPHA Graduate Program. We are very thankful for the ongoing support by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen, and the University of Tübingen, which enables us to continue our commitment to pursue a successful and excellent doctoral training. 

PHOENIX Pharmaceutics Science Award 2017

The renowned award recognizes unique achievements in the pharmaceutical science field. Stefan Laufer was honored as one of the prize winners of this year for his work in the discipline of pharmaceutical chemistry. Congratulations to the winner!

Summer school: Tracking fast signalling processes in vivo

ICEPHA PIs joined the Summer School "Tracking fast signalling processes in vivo – mechanisms, targets and tools" at the Benediktinerinnen-Abtei auf Frauenchiemsee. This Summer School was supported by the Excellence Initiative of the University of Tubingen.

The ICEPHA Core members have approved the establishment of the Graduate Program Membrane-associated Drug Targets in Personalized Cancer Medicine. For an initial period of 3 years more than 20 PIs from Tübingen and the Campus of the Robert-Bosch-Hospital in Stuttgart will work together on 8 cutting-edge projects.
